  • About Andre: Director of the Joint European Disruptive Initiative (J.E.D.I.), former Special Advisor to the French Minister of Defence, founder of ACAPITAL André Loesekrug-Pietri, French-German nationalities, held leadership positions in private equity, government, industry and as an entrepreneur. Starting as assistant to the CEO of Aerospatiale-Airbus, he then spent 15 years in private equity and venture capital, including 10 years with China, investing in European companies with global ambitions. In 2017, he paused from the private sector to become Special Advisor to the French Minister of Defence, responsible in particular for European Defense policy as well as technology and innovation. He is currently Director of the Joint European Disruptive Initiative (J.E.D.I.), aiming to accelerate Europe’s leadership in disruptive innovations. HEC and Harvard Kennedy School graduate, he is lecturer at SciencesPo and non-resident fellow of the German Marshal Fund. He attended Sup-Aero aerospace engineering school, was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, is a private pilot, and Colonel with the French Air Force People’s Reserve.

Alexandre Terrien, Co-Founder, Future Positive Capital

  • About Future Positive Capital: invests in companies that apply advanced technologies like artificial intelligence, synthetic biology, or robotics to solve massive global needs reversing climate change. It raised its inaugural $57 million fund in 2019.
  • About Alexandre: Alexandre started his career by partnering with a Harvard biomedical engineering professor to build a moonshot studio that developed products at frontiers of science and design to launch transformative companies. Prior to founding Future Positive Capital, Alexandre co-founded Kukua, a pan-African education media franchise, and built General Assembly’s enterprise business in Europe in view of the company's sale to Adecco for $412m.

Alex Zhigarev, General Partner, SpeedInvest

  • About Speedinvest: Speedinvest supports the best entrepreneurs and provides financing, entrepreneurial know-how, operational expertise, and business development assistance in EU and USA that are essential to building a great company. My team specializes in finding the best Deeptech projects from all across Europe, as well as Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and other FSU states.
  • About Zhigarev: Having completed a Masters Degree in Applied Mathematics from Moscow Engineering Physics Institute, he started his career as a software developer and project/program manager in large IT companies (Luxoft, Dell, Ericsson). He developed an avionics software, managed process improvement initiatives, was responsible for due diligence cases and M&A in engineering and TMT industries and even evangelized agile methodologies before Agile became a mainstream practice. After obtaining an MBA from INSEAD in 2010, he co-founded and managed a number of companies, some of which were successful and some less so. The “airbnb” for Russian speaking markets was one of the largest online apartment rental players on the CIS market by 2012. The “Booking.com” for medical tourists collapsed after the crush of the Russian currency in 2014. The gig he worked on before becoming partner of Speedinvest was Vest Financial – a company backed by Y Combinator and First Round Capital and acquired by Chicago Board Options Exchange in 2016. Alex is an angel investor in a number of startups and works on board of one of the largest online travel agencies in Russia.
